Rabbi Yitzhak Yehoshua is a well–known figure; he is the chief rabbi of the Bukharian Jewish Congress of the USA and Canada. He is visible, not only at the Sabbath services at the Bukharian Jewish Commnity Center, but also in his daily work of maintaining the cohesion of the community.

Last autumn, October 28, the Jewish Child Care Association (JCCA) Bukharian Teen Lounge participants and the Young Leaders of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) came together for a one of a kind adventure. The group enjoyed exploring together the rich immigrant history of the Lower East Side. Zhanna Beyl, Coordinator of Bukharian Teen Services and Adi Beinhert, HIAS Young Leaders Coordinator have been partners since the beginning of the year.
